About the Event
The 2026 summer hiking schedule will continue with our hike in the San Gorgonio Wilderness that will start
from the South Fork Trailhead (6,900’). The route up to the Dry Lake campsite (9,100’) is 5.7 miles long with
a 2,200’ elevation gain. It is a great conditioning hike and goes through some of the best mountain terrain in
Southern California. It is a 23 mile hike for those summiting Mt. San Gorgonio.
On Sunday, those training for the long-term hike will want to climb Mt. San Gorgonio (at 11,499’, the highest
peak in Southern California) (a BSA peak bagger rating of “B”) while other Scouts may choose day hikes to
